Cinematic Titanic LIVE!
Event Description:
From the creator and original cast of
Mystery Science Theater 3000

On Sale Friday, August 22
From the people who brought you Mystery Science Theater 3000 comes a whole new
movie-riffing experience: CINEMATIC TITANIC. Created by Joel Hodgson, creator and star of MST3K (as it’s known to it’s devoted fans), and featuring the writing and performing talents of the show’s original cast – Joel (Joel Robinson), Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester) and J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Ehrhardt) along with longtime writers and co-stars from the show’s 10 year run, Frank Conniff (TV’s Frank) and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester).

Hodgson has described Cinematic Titanic as a "movie-riffing delivery system" rather than a show. The characters appear as silhouettes surrounding the screen, an evolution of Hodgson's "Shadowramma" concept from MST3K. To achieve the effect, CT is shot on a large soundstage in front of a green chroma-key screen.

The live premiere of Cinematic Titanic took place at Industrial Light & Magic on December 7, 2007.

The group’s first DVD release, CINEMATIC TITANIC’S “THE OOZING SKULL”
pits the Titans against this 1971, non-classic, non-hit thriller – perfect fodder for the sidesplitting commentary fans have come to expect from a movie-riffing system. The film has everything B-movie fans crave – an evil doctor, a duplicitous blonde bombshell, a mutant zombie and a brain that just wants a new skull to call home. Throw in some international intrigue and a touch of romance and you’ve got a movie that’s guaranteed to deliver delicious disappointment throughout! Perfect!

Having spent the last several years working separately, and in various combinations on network TV (Freaks and Geeks, The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, AFV, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Later with Greg Kinnear, and multiple other shows) the crew of Cinematic Titanic is thrilled to reunite for this artist funded and operated venture.
