Bad Boys of Arena Cross
Event Description:
All tickets include parking
When good boys play in the dirt, they use toy motorcycles and trucks and make noise as they act like they are racing. When the BAD BOYS get in the dirt they go over the edge! The National Circuit for the BAD BOYS OF RACING is making a weekend stop inside the FAMILY ARENA Friday and Saturday nights January 29th and 30th for the Arena Cross Championships. There is plenty of action with the motocross riders and joining them will be some good old Hot Rod 4x4 Mud Bog Drag Racing with pick-ups and Jeeps.

This is the 1st year the promoters, Checkered Flag Productions from Texas, to bring this huge event to the Family Arena but they have had great success in places like Chicago and Denver and the St. Charles stop is there only one in this area. “We picked the FAMILY ARENA because of its ease for spectators and racers to get here from miles around. The FAMILY ARENA has a large floor and it is going to be best to accommodate this huge dual motorsports event, “said Ed Beckley the president of Checkered Flag.

Combining indoor motocross (Arenacross) with 4x4 Hot Rod Mud Drag Racing is sure to be popular with the St. Louis area. Missouri has always been full of mud racing fans. The two motorsport events have fans snapping photos and cheering their favorite rider or driver. Whether it is a hot rod pickup slinging mud or 2 or 3 motorcycle racers flying side by side off a jump and banging handlebars these two nights of racing are sure to excite you more than a two candy bar sugar high!

Professional riders come from all over the U.S. to race for the huge purse (the largest in history) and the local amateur riders race just as hard for shiny trophies. Beckley said the competition is going to be incredible, “We are expecting nearly 200 riders to compete and some will be factory supported riders there searching for glory and the recognition that could escalate their careers.”

The riders know the motorcycle industry media are following this event so they might just use each other for traction if it is necessary. Arenacross racing is like a UFC fight in a phone booth – someone is bound to be hurt!

The CFP Crew will spend over 300 man hours and thousands of dollars to prep the FAMILY ARENA for the hundreds of truck loads of dirt that is brought in. Before the dirt comes in the arena, the ARENA’s crew removes the hockey dashers and pushes the bottom rows of seats back and this opens up the floor space for a better track. Next a train of trucks begins hauling a mountain of dirt inside a usual pristine FAMILY ARENA and dumps all this material on the floor. With dirt mounds stacked all over the floor the next part of the formula is where those dirt mounds are virtually attacked by skid steers, dozers, and shaped into a state of art motocross track with huge jumps that riders will soar 70 to 80 feet in the air!

With that completed, crews then move to construct a 20 feet wide 220 feet long stretch of dirt and start mixing it with water to complete the mud bog track. Mud track? It’s nearly 4 feet deep and the consistency of thick Malto Meal and will nearly devour any hot rod 4 x 4 pickup that attempts to drive through it.

Finishing the recipe for motorsports fans and adrenaline junkies the tracks are groomed, the mud is remixed, flags and streamers everywhere, and color covers the floor. After opening ceremonies we will sit on the edge of our seats for 2 hours while this motor spectacular of racing, jumping, crashing, mud flying, motors screaming, tires spinning give us a show that we can see no where else but in St. Charles inside the soon to be muddy FAMILY ARENA.

Come join the fun, this is an event you and your family deserve to see, feel, and become a part of the fun!
