Wonago Productions presents the 3rd annual Longhorn World Championship Rodeo at St. Charles Family Arena, January 9-11.
New this year is the addition of the pre-show extravaganza: Kiddie Corral. When the doors open 1 hour before show time, kids of all ages are invited onto the rodeo floor an up close look. Activities include: rodeo gear viewing and demonstrations, meet and greet with cowboys and cowgirls and a special appearance by rodeo clown “Gator”.
The Friday 8 p.m. opening night performance will feature the extraordinarily popular Kids’ Stick Horse Stampede. The Saturday 8 p.m. performance is Kids Trick Rope Night with the first 500 kids 12 and under getting a free trick rope. The final performance will feature a new contest for kids called “Clown For A Day”, with cash prizes for the best dressed kid rodeo clowns. The contest will be held during the Sunday 2 p.m. performance.
Also, new this year, Longhorn Rodeo salutes those dedicating their lives to our safety and protection. Friday night’s performance recognizes our armed forces, Saturday honors Firefighters and EMS while Sunday pays tribute to the police. Firefighters, Police, EMS and Military can save $5 on reserved seating to any performance with a valid ID. Limit 2 tickets per ID. This offer is valid at the Family Arena Box Office only.
Former Wild West show performer and trick riding champion Shawn Brackett of Collinsville, OK will be the showcased specialty act for all three rodeo performances.
And as always the rodeo features over 125 cowboy and cowgirl contestants (many of whom are ranked top in the nation) competing on award winning bucking stock and competition horses.
