For five decades, John Ulett has been part of the heartbeat of St. Louis rock radio. On Saturday, September 26, 2026, that legacy gets the celebration it deserves when Jefferson Starship headlines an unforgettable night of classic rock at The Family Arena, honoring Ulett’s 50 years on KSHE-95. This special concert brings together four legendary bands whose music has lived on KSHE airwaves for generations, delivering a night packed with songs that helped define rock radio and the listeners who grew up with it.

Jefferson Starship remains one of the most successful rock bands of the 1970s and ’80s, earning three platinum albums, eight gold albums, and numerous Top 40 Billboard singles. Founded by Paul Kantner in the 1970s, the band was conceived as a collective of musical adventurers, producing a catalog of rock classics that continue to resonate with audiences today.

Since the current lineup solidified in 2012, Jefferson Starship has become a formidable touring act, performing in all 50 U.S. states, across five continents, and around the world. The band’s members often describe themselves as both a “family” and a “gang,” a bond that shines through in their dynamic live performances and hit-filled sets.

The current lineup features founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin, keyboardist Chris Smith, guitarist Jude Gold, and singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson. While honoring the legacy of Kantner, who passed away in 2016, the band continues to embrace the spirit of exploration and adventure that has always defined Jefferson Starship.

Supporting Jefferson Starship is a lineup of celebrated artists whose songs remain staples of classic rock radio:

Atlanta Rhythm Section, formed from Atlanta’s top studio musicians, brings their smooth Southern rock sound and enduring hits including “So Into You” and “Imaginary Lover.” Inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, ARS continues to showcase the musical excellence that made them a radio favorite.

Orleans delivers timeless pop-rock favorites such as “Still the One,” “Dance With Me,” and “Love Takes Time.” Nearly five decades into their career, the band remains known for its signature vocal harmonies, guitar interplay, and engaging live shows.

Firefall brings a rich blend of rock, folk-rock, and country-rock shaped by the classic American sound of the 1970s. Best known for hits including “You Are the Woman,” “Just Remember I Love You,” “Strange Way,” and “Cinderella,” Firefall continues to perform the songs that made them a mainstay of classic rock radio for more than four decades.
