The St. Louis Ambush will play host to the San Diego Sockers on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:05 p.m. at The Family Arena in Game 1 of the Major Arena Soccer League’s Ron Newman Cup Semifinal Playoffs.
St. Louis earned its place in the semifinal round with a dramatic three-game series victory over the Kansas City Comets. After the Ambush took Game 1, the Comets leveled the series with a 6-5 win in Game 2, forcing a 15-minute knockout game to decide the series. St. Louis won that decisive contest 2-0, with goals from Colin O’Keefe and Christian Briggs to advance.
The knockout game capped a thrilling evening at The Family Arena. The Comets surged to a 5-2 lead after three quarters, but the Ambush rallied with three unanswered fourth-quarter goals — from Mario Falsone, Will Eskay, and James Togbah — to tie the match 5-5. Kansas City scored late to take the 6-5 win in regulation, but St. Louis answered in the knockout game, with O’Keefe opening the scoring in the seventh minute before Briggs sealed it on a power play in the fourteenth minute.
Tickets for Game 1 of the Ambush-Sockers semifinal series are available at The Family Arena box office and online.
